Sabarimala Darshan Package

Sabarimala main pilgrimage season is from 14th November to 20th January every year. “Mandala Pooja and Makara pooja” vilakku celebrations come during this period. Immediately after mandala pooja the temple closes for 5 days prior to re-opening for the Makaravilakku session. The most suspicious moment is Makaravilakku celebrations on “Makara sankranthi” day which generally falls on January 14th. On this day Lord Ayyapa’s idol is adorned with Thiruvaabharanam brought from the home of his ancestors (Pandalam Maharaja). After this the door of the sanctum sanctorum are open for the “Arathy”. It is at this time the divine light “Makarajyothi” is visible at Ponnambalamedu. However the rush of pilgrims is so much on that day and many pilgrims prefer to visit Sabarimala during other seasons. During “mandalakalam” there is no sufficient place for car parking and cars have to be parked much away.
Onam and Vishu also are special days for Sabarimala. Thiruvonam falls on August/September and Vishnu is in the Month of April. During Vishnu the temple remains open till 20th of the month. During the other monthly opening days the flow of pilgrims is much less. The surroundings of sabarimala are more peaceful and a devotee can visit the temple peacefully. We arrange monthly Darshan package for devotees between 16th and 21st of every month with the assistance of Guru Swami for darshan and “Kettunara”. All the articles for the pooja and proper guidance will be arranged for the devotees who opt our Sabarimala package.
